By your technical definitions..... there really aren't any "regional" carriers then. The real term should be "contract" carriers because they generally don't sell their own tickets and only work as contractors for other companies.

I was using the term Regionals and Majors/Legacies in how it is traditionally used and understood in the pilot world - less desirable contracts and T&Cs vs significantly better....
I added the part which you expanded on in a quick attempt to highlight the usage distinction without adding to an already long post. I should have added more flesh to it.....
