maybe they're looking at the A220 because they want a bigger Boeing and Boeing knows that whatever they buy next they'll order at least 200 of them and its posturing.
regardless it's always posturing and trying to get a better deal.

They stretched the Max 7 by 2 rows from the -700’s length (at the request of SWA is my understanding).

Is it not close enough for government work?

Always thought it was tunnel work. Bore from both ends. If any part of the holes meet, it is close enough. They could back up and chew on the edges to meet up cleanly.

I think the max 7 is the same size as the a220-300. DL has 130 seats on the -300 vs 124 on the 737-700s

A225 would compete with the Max8

Agreed. Sw doesnt have first class so its 143 seats on the 700s

With first class a Max 7 holds 136, 700 holds 124. Two more rows on the MAX.

No. However, it was part of an rfq/rfp that Alaska Airlines put out including the equivalent E195 E2 and A220- 1,2,3...
Seems like the Delta guy that works for us was at least trying to look at other options. At this point there is no question that his marching orders are to one way or the other return us rapidly to an all 737 fleet

SW Max 7’s are configured to 150 seats.
