Exactly. There have and will continue to be opportunities for legacy HA pilots to take positions on the mainland that don’t involve a 737 if that’s what they want. I just don’t understand the guts with doom mentality.

They didn't include the bid transaction log on the FCA News and Announcement page nor the email that was sent out. For reasons...
The bid transaction log from the last bid was pretty interesting though. 55 guys senior to me want SEA CA. And close to 70 senior to me want PDX CA. At this rate I wouldn't be optimistic about holding PDX as an FO for at least 2-3 years.

Bid transaction log begins on page 219 of the file sent out by FCA.

Seems the order book is different. One MAX 8 was delivered on the 8th of October. Rumor mill says 6 this year and 6 the next year. I didn't listen to the all pilot call though. For now I'd treat word 302's numbers as a good WAG. Fingers crossed for Boeing performing...

I'd agree that there definitely will be some bidding 737. There will also be a few Alaska pilots bidding HNL positions. That having been said, with the 787 base in SEA it will greatly mitigate the number that will actually go after the 737. Given the upgrade times for Alaska 737 base most of us would be far better off going 787FO, holding a cozy line, and will likely make more money than sitting reserve as a 737 captain. The two big unknowns at this point are how deep the displacements go in HNL when the 787 gets fully moved next year and whether we keep Amazon. Hopefully the 787 displacements are balanced by Hawaiian pilots choosing 787 Seattle. At that point, so long as we hang on to the Amazon contract, or possibly grow it, I don't think the West coasters have that much to worry about. If we lose Amazon then I think we're all in for a bit of harm.

People do different things for different reasons. Perfect example is my buddy who lives in Seattle but chooses to commute to the right seat of the freighter over the 78 because he makes more money on the freighter. Sure there's gonna be some HA guys that bid the guppy, but not in the numbers that are going to hurt anyone. If the freighter goes away that will definitely cause some significant short-term pain. If it grows it's gonna create a ton of movement.

pilot call said 6 next year then they are done with 8 and 9’s but if the max 10 keeps getting delayed the 10s are options they can convert to 8 or 9’s
