Once the arbitration is finished is it known when Virgin starts operating under the Alaska pay scale and contract?

Still group format in the morning, then group lunch with some HR folks and CP's. Afternoon is relatively short individual interviews. All in all, very welcoming format. Still the inherent stress of course, but they did their best to minimize it.

They did intend for everyone to wear a suit, which is a change from the past. Anybody you know at VX who's been there a while will be adamant that you don't wear a suit or tie, but that's old gouge. A few folks went with the old gouge, I don't think they held it against them...this time. In the future, if the invite says "business professional", you need a suit, period.

Other than the suit and the presence of AS folks, everything was the same as what you've heard about VX interviews in the recent past. The AS people were every bit as friendly as their VX counterparts, so that didn't seem to have an impact on the tone of the event. I assume AS reserved the right to inject their opinion as to who who gets called, and who gets hired but they did not seem to be changing the format or tone.

All in all, looks like a lot of good things just around the corner for VX/AS.

My understanding is that it will happen essentially immediately after arbitration, which everyone assumes will be Oct - ish timeframe.

Everything is still subject to discussion and potential arbitration. Each side presented different dates on when the pay would start.

They said you should be able to get any base within 3 months, iirc. Not sure about doubling SFO, but everything is growing.

One more if y'all are not busy. Does VX or AS provide any type of discount for mobile plans? Be it att, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.

Thx!

VX has 17% at Verizon. Not sure about AS or other discounts.
