The management panel at a recent interview. I wouldn't expect the new base till late next year at best.

In our momentum session we were told that SAN was going to be a done deal as a pilot base, until they purchased VX and then everything went on hold. But I've heard this SAN rumor more than once.

I don't know if it's an annual thing. VX employees got one momentum session this year from Jan-March.

DAL/DFW co-base for Airbus. Alaska wants to use it for shorter than transcons legs right? Middle of the country. They just added a bunch of new routes from DAL (albeit SkyWest for now). Heard it from nobody but makes sense.

Makes sense? Maybe. Probably cheaper for them to have a domicile there instead of NY. Problem is DAL is gate contstrained and adding flights there will never happen. Not sure if there are any more growth opportunities in DFW. Also, they didn't really ADD any flying. Just replaced the Airbus NY and DC routes with the EMB. Dropped the LAS route and replaced it with DAL-SEA. I think the only route they "added" was SJC or SAN ?? And that was also EMB route. There's only so much they can do with 2 gates. Anyways.. I'd Still love to see a Dallas base!

Added (Yes SkyWest) SAN, SJC, PDX, and SEA. Took away LAS and switched LGA and DCA to SkyWest. Went from around 12 departures a day to 19-20. So yes they added flying. Don't need to grow DAL after that, just "mature" those routes to an Airbus and bing bang boom!
