I've been hearing a lot of talk at my airline (Skywest) of a bunch of FOs with no turbine time or military experience getting hired at VX. Is this true? What are the latest hiring trends and competitive quals?

(I did search this thread but didn't find clear answers on quals of people who have been hired recently. Please forgive me if I missed something obvious.)

They've been hiring many with no TPIC time. VX isn't the only one either.

Yes we have a a lot of guys that come from Skywest. There are plenty of guys that get hired without any turbine pic time. The mins are around 2500 right now so if you have that then apply and go to a job fair for your best shot at an interview.

6500TT here, but only 1000 ME and 700 turbine. All the turbine time is SIC (except for some SE turboprop that nobody cares about.) Wonder if they'd give me a look.

That said, the hiring window appears to be closed at this time, yes? There aren't any FO openings shown on the VX website...

It opens and closes pretty often. Just keep an eye out for it. I would go to a job fair and talk to them there.

Yes. Just had a newhire 28 yr old Skywest guy with no TPIC. I hired was from another regional no TPIC too back in 2012 at 27. I don't know what the trend or competitive mins are but if you have an ATP and 2,500 hrs and are interested, apply.

Is it 1 year to reapply after getting the TBNT after the interview?
