I just submitted a resume and cover letter. No video.
I will add that I don't believe my experience is all that competitive. (3,500 TT, 300 TPIC, no military) So, I have a feeling that this is perhaps a formality bestowed upon every applicant who meets the basic qualifications.

This is near the top of the career forum information page:
NOTE TO ATTENDEES RESERVING TO MEET WITH ALASKA AIRLINES: 2/3/16 - Owing to the high interest in "meet-and-greets" with Alaska Airlines, space is NOW limited in FRIDAY's guaranteed appointments to STAND-BY basis. Registered attendees may need to be flexible in schedule as meet-and greet priority for registered attendees will be extended in to SAT as well. If time allows you may be seen on FRIDAY if you are on site. Arriving on Saturday? Attendees may reserve for texting notification and registration will include admission to the event. Please stop at the Information Booth for your registration credentials/badge. There will be no registration onsite.
I don't know exactly what that means. What I'd like to know is where it was ever publicized that such a system was being used. I would have registered a whole lot earlier.

Nothing really new to report. They wanted to make sure that you've done your profile on Smart Recruiters, that you're actively volunteering, taking on more responsibilities at your current place of employment and attending the meet and greets. That's really about it.
It sounds like they're looking to hire around 8/mo for the rest of the year starting sometime next month (60-70 new pilots). The pool is around 80-90 right now, but slowly draining as people bail out, so they might hire a little more, but not much. They're adding something like 15 new planes next year, so they were a little more optimistic that the hiring number will go up then (probably double).
Until then, hurry up and wait.

Met with them on Friday morning, had a much better experience than at NGPA. Much more organized and got some more face time too.

The sit down was with a FA/Pilot recruiter and lasted about 15 minutes. We went over my resume, job history, "why Alaska?", "Why do you want to leave your current job at Horizon?", "Give me a sample preflight PA announcement.", "What can you do for Alaska if offered the job?" and a little more small talk type things. It was actually a nice little conversation, no pressure. About 5 minutes after that, i got an email from Alaskas job application website saying they have reviewed my application.. assuming they went in and put some sort of note that I attended the event.

That's so Alaskan Airways because you know, pilots who make the best PAs are the "Chuck Yeagers" in the making and climbing the ladder is all about the orifice skills. I'm so glad that HR has the power to hire the finest pilots just as Hillary will become the greatest president ever!

Can anybody give any insight on employee referrals with the new smart recruiters system? On the old system there was a least a place to put someone's Arctic number. Is the old system completely gone? Is there a place within the new system for employee referrals?
