Did the phone interview about a month ago and they basically said that they wanted me to attend a conference for some face time. Unfortunately I was sick for the NWAC (Which is the one I planned to attend)...... I don't think I can make WIA any of the next three days...and don't even know if they have any "fast pass" slots left. What are other opportunities to meet face to face with Alaska recruiters? Only one I've heard of that is left is OBAP. Really don't want this opportunity to slip away.....

I got an email and message on smart recruiters to do the phone screening. I sent back a list of dates and times of availability right away and still waiting for a response. Do they tell you when they'll call? Hopefully this isn't a joint screening for a job at QX as well.

Can't remember exactly.....I think they asked via email the best time to call you. I gave them a block of time every day based on my schedule. I don't think they brought up Horizon.....it seemed to me that the whole point of the phone interview was to get you to attend a job fair where they could get face time with you.

They'll be at the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering again this year.

When I went to their booth there a few years ago it wasnt recruiters and sometimes it was a mechanic maning the booting.

My big HR question from the 'Grave Digger' and the HR attorney was "Are you ready to receive your PHD in aviation? And if so, please tell how you plan to accomplish this." I would have really liked to have told him to go play 'Hide and go # yourself," but I wanted the job.

If you want the job, learn to play the game. Good luck.

Baja.

Sounds like when I went to WIA a few years ago, really intent on Atlas. They had a flight attendant manning the booth, pretty much just took my resume, set it down without looking at it and said, "keep applying, good luck". Phew! Dodged a bullet there.

Did the phone interview, standard stuff, one question did throw me off though, "what was your score on the ATP written?" Huh? Haven't been asked that one yet.

Actually, forget that, go to ANC and visit the Great Alaskan Bush Company.

HOME

Ask for Mercedes (or Champagne if she's busy), head of recruiting.

Tell her that you would really like to park your plane in her hangar and see what happens.

Guaranteed to be a much more enjoyable experience!

Did Mercedes tell you that her hangar can't accommodate your tiny winy plane?
