Pretty sure I can guess the answer since poolies don't have a date of hire till they start, but historically have poolies fallen into this constructive notice if they start class after merger but had cjo prior to merger announcement?

A friend of mine talked to one of the BCP's today.... Interviews are happening Apr 28-29. They have probably been called already. Then interviews every month. A class of 8 a month till the 4th qtr. Then probably more after that.

it appears that the SLI in other recent mergers have done just that.....all pilots on both seniority lists as of the merger announcement will be integrated using ratio, career and a large dose of black magic.....all pilots hired by both airlines after the announcement will be straight date of hire.....wont matter who you are working for just when you started there.....all those pilots will be the happy ones in the merger

In every merger I have been in or observed everyone hired by either side after the intent to merge announcement goes date of hire. When you were offered a job is not relevant.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe newhire classes have been put on hold until August. This is what I was told early in the year. I believe to get instructors on the line thru summer, which isn't unusual for airlines. Has this changed?

Will Alaska be at OBAP in Vegas next week? The SR email lady said yes...but I'm not sure. The event is sponsored by a bunch of companies including Alaska/Horizon.....but Alaska and Horizon don't show up on the "Participating Companies" list as most of the other sponsors do. I'd hate to plan around my reserve schedule, pay the $200 registration fee, to show up only to not get to talk to anyone from Alaska (since they specifically told me in the phone interview to try and go to one of these events). Kicking myself for not attending WAI this year.

All of the majors pay "homage" to OBAP and WAI in the form of sponsorship, whether they are there to recruit or not is not connected to "supporting" these organizations.
