Not sure about referrals, but I did ask about editing a profile after it is submitted and the answer I got was, "we're still working out the bugs of transitioning to Smart Recruiters." I would imagine employee referrals is probably just another "bug" they're working on.

Sorry you feel that way. Yes, it was "kind of" lame, but so is going to theese meet and greets. Maybe you should contact the Alaska Airlines HR and tell them how to recruit pilots!

No need to apologize, little buddy. I feel your frustration. Maybe you can get on with a real airline or are you another DAL/UAL/AAL/etc. reject? Btw, HR already knows how I feel about their hiring practices.

So has this phone screen lead to anything for anyone yet? I just had one, and it took all of about two minutes. I couldn't determine if the interviewer had any motivation beyond "just the facts." She was very pleasant and it was a pleasant conversation, but mostly it was "don't forget to apply when the window opens again!"

Hmm.

And the interesting thing about that is that at the NWAC career forum last week, the system chief pilot told us all that there would not be a mass application window again - all applications will be drawn from the talent community.

That's how I understand it to be. There won't be a traditional "application window" like they've done in the past where you fill out a new app and turn in your resume. It will now be a time where they pull applicants from the SmartRecruiters site and start calling applicants for an interview. I also understand that it may allow you to update your SmartRecruiter app when the "window" is open. But it seems like they're gathering info as we speak via your SmartRecruiter so when the "window" opens it will be a time for HR to call people based on the info they're gathering now. Also, those who have gone to the meet and greets (those who stood out at the meet and greets) will be the first ones called.
