I don't think that's the root cause; I created a profile using the resume upload, am not linked to LinkedIn, have had my app in since the beginning of the year, exceed the mins, and have not heard a peep from them yet.

How many classes have ran since the new year? Any idea how large the pool is currently?

I heard 50-60 swimming in the pool as of January. Classes have resumes so I'm not how many are currently swimming. Assuming 10 go through class per month that would make sense. I was told interviews start back up at the end of April (maybe beginning of May) and classes start with those newly called people in June. The pool would be empty by then.

Had my SR phone call a few days ago. Same questions as everyone else (hours,ATP,50 hours 30 days). Non threatening. They said they were marking this info down in my "file". That I should book mark Alaska jobs and check back every day for the window to open up to actually apply. Then I was told it could be years before I get an interview and I should consider Horizon.

According to the system chief pilot himself, there will not be another mass application window. It's all SmartRecruiters/Talent Community from here on out.

And yes, given Alaska's projected hiring numbers, it could be years before you get an interview. I've been actively working on it for over two years now and hold out very little hope of getting an interview any time soon despite having internal recommendations (that they won't look at until the interview), times that are about twice what you have, and Alaska recruiters telling me I'm a strong candidate every time I talk to them. The numbers are much more in your favor nearly everywhere else.

This is in direct contradiction to the conversation with the SR lady who called. She was very clear that I will have to apply through alaskajobs.

I know. She told me and everybody else that, too. Then a few weeks later at the Pacific Northwest Aviation Conference career forum, no less than John Hornibrook himself said that there would be no more mass application windows, and all candidates would be selected through SmartRecruiters. But the SR people still have their script that tells you to watch alaskajobs. It doesn't hurt to watch it, I suppose, but that that's one watched pot that might never boil.

Have you considered Horizon?

This is sounding more like a time share sales call than an job recruiter....

SR is a private Company based in San Francisco CA. John Hornibrook is the Alaska Airlines system chief pilot.

Who do you think you should listen to? These SR callers were also the ones asking people if they had 50 hours in the last month a while back.

The 50 hour in last month question very well could have been wanted from the CP office. I know a few guys that didn't get the job after an interview because they fly a desk too much (assistant cp, instructors, tech pilots). The chief pilots were telling them they needed to be flying at least 50 hrs a month to be considered.
