Default Commuting from San Juans...???

Hey guys...saw THIS place pop up on the house radar...and heard a few ALK guys commute from San Juans to SEA. What is best way? Some guys on the "other" forum said Kenmore, Horizon from BLI, or just get a Cessna and fly to BFI. Anyone know the details of the BFI option...where to park, cost per night etc. would Tac Narrows be better? Thanks for info

Good report from the newhire class that started today:

8 positions total
2 @ ea base (ANC, SEA, PDX, LAX)
PDX went JR (7-8)
Everybody got either 1st or 2d choice

No, they removed the 1000PIC requirement. However, I think most guys are coming into class with over 1000.

Realtor told me about the "olympic rain shadow"...san juans get about 20"/yr vs 36" in Seattle.

Its true. If you drive down Whidbey Island from Oak Harbor about the time you get to Greenbank, the trees change from pines to deciduous trees. That's a difference of about 20-25 inches of rain a year.

Sequim has over 300 days of sunshine due to the Olympic rain shadow. Its a very popular town for retirees, especially those from the state of Alaska.

Here is a simplified breakdown of our latest class of 8.

"These guys and gal come to us after flying for the USAF (x2), United, Virgin America, Era, QX, Skywest and AAR Airlift."
