Important note: DO NOT use the IE back-arrow or hit the backspace key when you are outside of a text block. The browser goes back, and Alaska's site dumps all your work! Ask me how I know...

With the window currently open, is it worth submitting a resume with only the ATP written done (to show interest) or is it not recommended until the practical is complete? (Practical scheduled for June)

Do recs from Horizon FOs carry any weight at AS (IE count as internal for AAG)?

Thanks!

It is great that you are interested, but typically the reason the airlines use the computer application processes is to weed out the apps that don't meet the qualifications. Your probably better off meeting the qualifications and getting the app in after. Can never hurt to try though.

My experience would tend to indicate that recommendation letters don't do a lot to speed the process along. I uploaded four when I updated my application in August last year. Two were from Alaska pilots and one was from my current direct supervisor.

What I have learned over the course of the last year is that a strong résumé and a lot of effort to be seen at recruiting events will do a lot more for you than letters with your application. I'd guess that's why they don't take them with the application now - it's just not what they're looking at when they decide who to call.

I'm getting JOB EXPIRED now on the website. Got an email a couple of days ago stating the job would be open until midnight on the 18th.
Hopefully just a temporary IT glitch.

That's not a good clue. All it says is Alaska.

I know applicants who have had their resume walked in to a base chief's office with only one LOR attached, no job fairs attended and have been invited to an interview within months.

I'm wondering if they stopped allowing LORs to be included with your online application so that line pilots have to make in person introductions for the person s/he is recommending.
