Alaska Air Hiring
#771
Well I've submitted my app (for the 3rd time). I've met the LAX (former?) CP. I had a great M&G with Will at the WIA. I've had a few pilots call on my behalf. Not sure what else I can do to show a desire.......here's hoping for the best in. The next few weeks

To answer your other question, I did paste in my cover letter above my resume in the text box. But as I and others have pointed out, those things don't seem to be the deciding factor in who gets an interview. It seems to require face time in one forum or another.

Jump on a plane and go to one of the other bases to meet another base chief pilot. Ask them directly what you can do to be more competitive. The folks here are straightforward and will tell you. Call and set up a meeting with the overall chief pilot. They like to see you pursuing the job, and these steps can help set you apart.

Alaska is getting hundreds of pilots at the job fairs they attend. They are then able to pick from these pilots. The best way for anyone to get on is go to the job fairs. I completely understand it's time consuming and expensive but it looks to me that they have removed the LOR section because they are getting enough people at these job fairs. We are hiring like crazy and its a great time to get on. If you want to work here put in the time and go to a job fair with your LORs.
