Default Multiple Openings

There are multiple locations/domiciles listed for FO applications.

Am I safe to apply to one and be considered for all, or do I need to apply to each domicile?

I selected the SEA FO opening and applied to that position. It seems like a single application works for all locations.

Thanks,

v1

As of now, I would apply to both and say yes to whoever gives you a CJO.
This was covered by the Chief pilots on both sides.
As of August 1, when you apply and get a call, you will have the option of first available or an Alaska class or a Hawaiian class, respectively.

To reinforce, pilots (and usually FA's) generally do not apply for location-specific job openings, they simply apply to be the most junior pilot at the bottom of the list, equipment and domicile assignment come later.

Best you can hope for is maybe an option for class dates which might be equipment and/or domicile specific.

Other airline jobs are usually location-specific, so the job application system may have a location option. It shouldn't matter what a pilot selects, ie I don't think they were prefer an applicant who picks SFO over LAX, or ANC or PDX.

Yeah we're back in the hiring environment where you might have to revolve your work (and family) schedule) around job fairs and application windows.

Sucks but it is what it is. I did not play that game (impossible to solve with mil reserve in the schedule mix) and it delayed my progression. I recall parking a plane on a ramp one morning and running in to ops to use a computer to catch a SWA window. Good times.

I知 in a bit of a unique situation. I知 currently in the process of converting my Canadian ATPL to an FAA ATP and should have my certificate by early September.

With this in mind, would it be advisable to apply now to have the app on file or wait until I have all the certs?

Typically apps have you verify that you meet FAA 121 min requirements, which would include a FAA ATP (regionals usually only require that you have enough time to qualify for an ATP or R-ATP).

Your app would probably be rejected otherwise, and I would not misrepresent yourself by checking the box for a rating you don't yet have... good chance they'll notice eventually.
