No new hire classes until October. Maybe one earlier if they see a need for one. This per chief pilot hotline.

Default Interview

Does anyone know if there are interviews going on or are they sending out notices of interviews to applicants?

No interviews right now. Like the previous post said, there are no classes planned before October. Honestly, I’d be surprised to see any classes at all this year.

I talked with someone today who said they applied and, a couple weeks ago, received a phone call telling them to expect a video interview in the next few weeks sometime. It sounds like they are at least getting ready to have a list to call from for face to face interviews when the time comes.

I believe the CP hotline recently said they are going to keep the hiring infrastructure in place and ready to go when they begin hiring again, in the fall.

Hmm, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see any way they can wait until October, much less longer than that. Pretty sure we'll see classes before then...

I also heard that they are recontacting the applicants (at least some of them) that received a "we'll hang on to your app", and telling them to expect a video interview in a couple of weeks.

Let's hope you're right. We are currently one of the only airlines in the United States not hiring right now. I don't see how that can be a good thing.

There is a surplus due to training transition. Gonna be awhile.

They are definitely sending out video interview notices.

People who are worried about why we aren't hiring need to calm down. Our training department is simply too busy transitioning to even think about bringing on new pilots. I just finished transitioning to the bus, and I waited 6 weeks to begin IOE. Most people are waiting 8 weeks or more, and they have more pilots finishing every day. At one point the woman who schedules IOE said she had 70 pilots in queue. That's almost 1800 hours of IOE! I know we are getting 2-3 new check airmen, but that all needs to settle down before the company brings on new folks.

October is an accurate estimate for our next new hire class. I called someone involved with hiring to ask about the company's plan for a friend who received the "We'd like to move forward with your application" email, and I was told they will start sending good applicants the video interviews in June.

If you're trying to come here just be patient and remember that nobody is getting hired ahead of you right now. Good luck! If you're not a jerk I hope you get it!
