Day Trip Kit
I got hired into the september classes. Just curious if anyone out there has any tricks or gear recommendations for the flight kit they use for all these out and back schedules. I've even seen allegiant pilots rolling their flight bags around on little grocery dollies in lieu of the typical trip luggage.
Specifically, I'm curious if backpacks are allowed?

I use a TravelPro Maxlite underseat Tote. It can slide on top of my roll-aboard for the occasional overnight, but for normal day trips it is all I take.

Ha! it was pretty dorky looking. Can't say it wasn't effective though

You may find that something like this works quite well. I tried going without a rolling bag for a while and found that I preferred wheels. I pack an undershirt, skivvies, socks, and a civilian shirt and pants along with one of these.
Some pilots use a rolling chart case, which seems to me would work rather well. After you get settled, you might find that you like to bring prepared meals to warm in the aircraft’s oven for lunch. That may require a little more space than the luggageworks bag above and a chart case would provide that.

Aerocoast Pro cooler..older version has removable laptop case, newer EFB II has the slimmer attached EFB pocket.

Small TravelPro rollers are nice, too, if you don't want to hand-carry something and really think you might get stuck out somewhere.
