Sub-service starting next month. Resignations should really crank up next month and April when people who put in apps around new year get their class dates. Should be interesting when they need to pull dozens off the line for 737 training.

What is the sub-service you are referring to?

today for sure. Tomorrow?

What are the odds on Allegiant continuing to operate for two more decades?

As I said. If I live long enough to retire that’s when I’ll know for sure.

but.. for the long game I’m picking a legacy horse over G4.

You never know what can happen. Right now I’m content making 1/4 plus mill a year, being home every night, making all of my kids events, taking vacation the 4 weeks that I want them etc. If Allegiant goes under, no regrets here, I will have spent the prime of my life being home every night which is rare in this industry. My wife and I will figure it out from there but we have enough saved/invested that I am not losing any sleep over it.
I believe that wealth also has to do with time, not just money.

I’m happy for you comrade. The way I look at pay and work is how long am I away from home - from the time I leave the doorstep to the time I get back. That includes commuter time. Take every hour away from home and then apply how much you earn in pay, that is your hourly compensation for the day/week/month.

it looks like you have the Allegiant dream job and I’m truly jealous. However that being said I don’t think what you have is to be expected for a lot of the new guys coming in. Some bases Allegaint has are already staffed with zero planes to grow thus making upgrade times in that base pushing beyond even SWA upgrade times. For you, I’d ride this Allegaint train to the end because you hit the time perfect. For some of the new guys or people like me who spent 5 years there looking at 15 year upgrade at the base I was in it didn’t make sense. Im able to hold mostly 1-2 day trips with lots of soft credit that wasn’t possible at G4. Miss the crews I flew with at G4, some really great people

I couldn’t agree more and you’ll notice all of my comments about leaving allegiant are not directed at your seniority bracket. It’s the junior pilots and those looking to apply.

I understand why you haven’t left.

What I still can't ever figure out is why some of you are obsessed with telling others what choice they should be making?

I’m not telling anyone what to do. I’m telling prospective new hires that expecting what you have will most likely never happen. I’m here because senior pilots systematically lie to people on here talking about how great it is. They leave out a lot of details about the reality of being junior and what to expect at allegiant.

If someone decides to go after knowing all the facts the so be it. It works for some people. There are a few from my class still on property and they have good reasons to stay. I’m happy they found a good place to hang their hat.
