Those day trips can also be taken away whenever management decides they no longer fit with the operation.

As for elaborating at which other airlines day trips exist, feel free to do your own research. I’m not here to convince you or the other G4 apologists to leave.

Yes, there were positive points to working at G4, it was not all bad. I liked who I worked with. It was an incredibly easy job, and not having to commute was great. But at times, the abuse and mismanagement was awful and made it the most difficult job. I mostly do day trips now and enjoy my time at home with just over one year of seniority. Working for an airline that actually invests in its operation makes the job easier than it ever was at G4. Yeah, we have problems at the legacies, but those problems pale in comparison to what the pilots at G4 have to put up with.
Which airline do you work for?

Nothing guarantees day trips of course. I have been told that the Union will not sign an agreement without a guarantee of a significant percentage of day trips. I am confident that management here is so dysfunctional that they are incapable of operating a traditional airline schedule. We would have mega meltdowns like WN every March, summer and Christmas. I have the utmost confidence in management’s ineptitude and incompetence to run a sophisticated operation.

When you say mostly day trip can you elaborate? I am genuinely curious which legacy has day trip schedules similar to the old shuttle service.

AR has confirmed there is no expectation of a guaranteed number of day trips and the union will not pursue this. It was in a recent video. You need to stop spreading this or ask your source to double-check with AR. It’s laughably naive to think any airline would ever entertain even discussing such a restrictive provision. The day trips could be gone in a flash if conditions warrant. The company - to their credit - is investing heavily in IT & infrastructure and the old argument that Allegiant can’t figure out the logistics of overnights is obsolete.

You might not have heard but the company is looking forward to explaining to the mediator how we have a unique business model therefore you can’t have industry standard anything.

We look forward to working with Ms. Durham to explain Allegiant’s business model and operations and our vision for the future growth of the airline.”

The only thing I can think of that is guaranteed is death and taxes. I am curious how your day trips are. Would I be “guaranteed” day trips in 1 year if I came to your Legacy?

no more than you are guaranteed day trips at allegiant.

no one will know if they made the right decision until retirement.

I think it’s safe to say that a pilot is more likely to have day trips at Allegiant than a legacy, but maybe I’m crazy and legacies are now doing out and backs every day…

Default Industry standard pay?

Why not just go to Avelo for double digit % more pay, day trips only, and be on the front end of a hiring wave for seniority?

I would but you have to sleep on the airplane there.
