Contract negotiations

The sad reality is that GU decided to take over negotiations. Many claim that it's to "slow it down"; it appears to be that way. After telling the membership that unstacking was not a hill the union was dying on (including the NC), they decided to make it a hill to die on, or at least use it as the reason to request a proffer. Now, instead of negotiating other sections or doing ANYTHING, it's been 5 months since the NC has produced anything productive. For GU or anyone to claim (just like AR) that the only way to a contract is through a strike, not only shows unwillingness to negotiate, but inability to do so effectively. Make no mistake, when this proffer "flops", the spin machine will go full steam ahead. They'll claim that it's part of the process, and that it's not a loss. This will most likely make an ALPA drive go full steam ahead. From what I've heard a lot of people are sending their cards in because they have lost ALL confidence in GU, and are done with the IBT. Others are waiting for the proffer to be a NO, and that will be their motivation to seek other representation.
Greg went from "I'm not in negotiations bc this is your contract and I'm not an Allegiant pilot", to... "The NC can't make a decision because I'm the Trustee, and they do what I say" (said at a Captain upgrade dinner). From a strike, to dragging this on for years, GU is unaffected and continues to collect a check from the IBT. At this point, it doesn't matter who wins the local EXCO election, if we even have one this year. Especially after the Bylaws vote doesn't pass. Regardless if a good slate wins, GU will still be in charge of the Airline Division. He will inferfere where he can, and if his "prefered" slate gets in, forget about it. It's only going to be calls for unity, blindly follow, and come at dissenters.
Hopefully we hear from the NMB and soon, and they officially put something out. Bc if they don't, we'll be in the dark for months. Only to have GU and the bootlicking parrots push out narratives and continue to move the goal post.
If the NMB comes out, says NO, and asks our reps to bring other sections? Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE should be furious. Bc that means we are back to where we were in October fof last year. When apparently the mediator told our side to bring other sections; we refused. GU is supper touchy about having the mediator changed, and denies it; I wonder why, LOL. But I guess, now we just way... again. In the words of DJT... "we'll see what happens".

the only thing management will understand is hitting them in the wallet.

It's funny that GU letter tonight "recaped" a few things since he came in. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and even did what I could to help where I could. But after a FULL YEAR of BS, no results, moving the goal post, and frankly nothing but an interest to only string us along? Yeah I'm done too. And many are. His e-mail tonight was just a desperate attempt to cry out "Don't fire me", management wants ALPA to control you. HAHAHA what a ridiculous accusation. He know's his days are numbered. It's not just a small group of "radicals" or the "Super squad". It's a growing membership that is saying enough, it ends here.

now I just get bored of his gaslighting us, treating us like we are idiots. IBT has only playbook: blame management for everything that goes wrong. GU was gift wrapped AR so now he can blame Maury and Andrew for his pathetic results.
He’s a one trick pony: blame everyone but himself. I’m tired of calling him out; it’s not even worth it. Only a matter of time til the vote and it will be a landslide for ALPA.
