if we aren’t close then we’ll have to see if the NMB is serious about not scheduling more meetings and icing us out til JCBA

not necessarily. The NMB told the NC that there was June deadline to get a deal done. That was a few months ago. Not sure if that is still the “deadline” or what. From everything I’ve heard and seen my guess is that if the NC and management are getting close then the NMB will still schedule meetings.

I am still not convinced the NMB ever set that as a deadline. My guess the rumors got it confused with original talk that the deal would close around June. I home the Neg and Exco are not banking on getting a chance to talk after the Purchase is closed. If they think that we will all lose out again.
If we don’t have a deal in the next week, it’s time to start burning the place down… legally of course… or not. Who cares at this point. How do our executives get paid? Let’s burn those metrics to the ground.

There are only 3 ways to end mediation
- Vote in a TA
- Get released (proffer for arbitration)
- Any one of the two unions file for single carrier status followed by NMB approval
If you doubt this the documents are on NMB.gov and congress.gov. They are easy to read but if you don't want to spend the time have AI download and reference.
The majority of bridge agreements in previous M&A's have happened after closing.

of course this music to management’s ears because if the NMB doesn’t schedule dates then management has no legal obligation to negotiate with the union. Essentially mediation stops - this is what it means when union gets “put on ice”.
I have no idea if the June “deadline” is a hard deadline or anything like that. All I know for certain is that NC was told that. How do I know? because our attorneys told NC that the mediator cannot set a deadline and so our attorneys were gonna go straight to the NMB.
nobody from the union denies that the mediator said we have until June. What the NC and union have said is that it’s not a real deadline or the mediator can’t do that. But nobody is denying that they were told get it done by June or else no more time with the mediator.

I am not saying that it is a real deadline or what but I can assure I have seen and heard from multiple NC members that the mediator told union and management that if a wasn’t done by June then the NMB was not going to be scheduling more dates.

If we dont have an agreement before then, this airline wrote its own demise. Pilots are tired. Tired of working for subservient wages. Tired of watching management cash in. Tired of holding the operation together with nothing to show for it. Attrition will skyrocket. Perfect timing for their merger. Good luck printing money with morale where it is.
Stop carrying the operation! Write the plane up when and where they break. Stop having get home itis… Pack an overnight bag. IROP the heck out of this place.

agreed it feels like are are finally at a tipping point the last union email sounded promising that we will get a bridge deal done soon, I just hope they don’t settle too hard. And hopefully we don’t have to wait until the next mediation session to get an update.

When will everyone get it through their heads that attrition is NOT the answer to our problems. They DO NOT care about attrition… not to the point it helps our cause. They only care about metrics. Like I said above, when we start destroying the metrics that those people get paid off of, then and only then will they care.
