On the job injury
I recently got hurt on the job at Allegiant. HR advised me that I would have to follow my state's workman's comp policy and they would not pay protect me nor give me my guarantee moving forward. Workman's comp is a joke in most states. We have no language in our contract protecting us from an on the job injury. Most Regional airlines have better language. Think twice about coming to Allegiant as my situation has me second guessing my decision to accept a job at Allegiant.

In retrospect, would have been best (if possible) to say you were injured off the job?

We have had several pilots find themselves in this situation over the last few years and been been vocal about it. It's unfortunate that they get treated this way.

With the pay rates and work rules that piedmont will usher in for the regionals. G4 will now be a career regression.

Everyone is complaining about not being able to upgrade or not being able to grow. IMO, that's optimistic. We're going to be downgrading in a year if they don't stem the attrition and get some carrots to recruit with. |
I wonder how all them small middle of nowhere bases will fare this time next year?

All this talk about JR wants to do this or needs to do that….do they have a choice? The ability to attract pilot applicants continues to evaporate. They’re about to have two fleets they can’t staff & an un-achievable growth plan. They’ll park/get rid of airplanes, close stations & domiciles, and steadily downsize the airline because they won’t have a choice.
