It doesn't matter how separate the issues are...my guess is opinions will be formed.
I don't quite see your logic. Why would the mediators care if we forge our own path? First, the status quo strike is not even the goal of the mediators... Their goal is a contract. If anything, I think they would see a status quo strike as proof that the employees are so fed up with the company that they are willing to risk their careers to stop the company's shenanigans. It is substantiating evidence, not incriminating evidence, and I believe it would give them an ADDITIONAL reason to release us.

Now we have a date...and it's not that far away.

We don't know what this meeting is about. If it's just the NMBs weak attempt to jumpstart pointless negotiations again...then by all means, let's send a message and walk. But this could be an endgame meeting...one final meeting to see that neither side has compromised so a release is necessary.

I feel like everyone wants to burn the house down today, and for what? line bidding? We should be 100% focused on one thing...a contract. Why take a chance on ****ing off the mediators and damaging our position on the whole enchilada for such small potatoes?

IMHO naturally

The NMB is comprised of people who know the law. As previously stated, the status quo strike to return us to our original starting point has nothing to do with contract improvement issues. If anything, the NMB might be sympathetic to MG saying please don't let them strike, we just went through one. But always remember, all of this can be avoided anytime MG wants.

Don't feel sorry for people who repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot.

If any union leaders are viewing; lets stop with the urgent messages! We are all ready; we are all prepared; we have all notified our spouses; we have all either set up our cell phones or not. Those who have, have responded; those who haven't responded, we will likely see crossing our picket line and using an excuse of not getting the message. I for one, don't need any further urgent messages telling me to wait by my phone. As a matter of fact, I nearly chose to opt out and take my number off the list. If I show up to work, and see we're on strike, I'll put my trip bag back in my car, and grab a sign! The only SMS we need is......ON STRIKE! Not testing, testing, testing, or the sky is falling, or wolf wolf wolf. We know the company is seeing these messages, and if there is an attempt to show management we are about to walk; it only worked once for me! Fool me once.....shame on you.....fool me twice ( or daily ) shame on me for letting you. I'm not responding to the next SMS unless its the real deal.

What are the junior bases at G4? How long is the upgrade? How is the management-employee relationship? Can I hold 757 in Florida as a junior FO?

Relax......that's how this stuff works. This does carry with it an element of risk you know. Besides how do you know there are not discussions going on behind the scenes that might soon resolve this without a strike?

Nothing about your statement above is helpful to the cause.

If you have questions or concerns about the process and why things are happing please bring them up to a union representative or contact one of the three EXCO members they will respond.

All pilots need to keep in mind everything we due as a group or as individuals is highly visible right now. Anything you have to say that may shed even the slightest negative light on the union leaders or the process should be discussed with your union leadership not on a public forum.

If it is not something that bothers you enough to talk to your union reps about then keep it to yourself.

Well, great to see that a public forum is only public if its what you want to hear! You've just convinced me I was right! I am not the only one who is tired of the numerous URGENT messages. I may just be the only one who put it on here. But OK, now you have a scapegoat to point to if the solidarity begins to drop. Just blame me! Oh, and additionally, I'll be on the picket line instead of flying a trip.....but I'll just wait until I see it at the airport. I'm done being told to wait by my phone. You see, I've been on reserve long enough, and the only time I need to wait by my phone is during my reserve availability period.

The testing does suck, but I get it. I've seen a lot worse. Keeping 500+ pilots aligned and ready takes a lot if overkill, unfortunately. I'd rather deal with a little inconvenience and overkill than a botched strike. .02 cents.
