My email for an interview came about 4 weeks after he phone screen. That was last Friday that I got the offer for the interview. Offered interview date was less than a week from the email.

I was offered in-person interview about two hours after the phone interview. That was a Friday afternoon and they asked if I could be there for a Tuesday 11am interview. As of now waiting on a class date...

Had to call the Duty Pilot about a write-up I, yes, performed at the outstation
MX wanted to do a deferral that didn't exist in the onboard MEL. Duty Pilot said according to the General Information Manual, shipboard manuals can be up to 2 revisions behind :0 Good grief! He authorized me to fly with a faxed copy of he new MEL revision pages applicable to the deferral. Just buy the danged iPads, already!!

Chances are, if offered a job, you'll not be waiting long. Ops is budgeted for some fairly aggressive hiring over the next few months, it seems...

Has the "homeless" base idea changed at all at Allegiant?

While I'm the last person to ever defend this company, the iPad authorization has been sitting on the FAA's desk for over a year now. We are waiting for their approval. That being said, maybe if the FAA's resources weren't strained by handing all of our OTHER issues, it might get some attention.

I've been told the FAA has a list of like 20+ things to take care of here and the iPad is pretty much dead last on that.

One of the reps working on EFB another airline has told me that FAA approval isn't just "equipment" but they look at the "whole" process of pub distribution, training, and currency assuredness prior to approving a change over to non-paper only methods.

So according to him, if the paper systems are not kept up, accounted for, and trained to, it can significantly delay the approval of a transition.
