757 I believe is 4 or 5 years.
So basically most MD 80 FOs have turned down the VRB base Captain position.
It should be pointed out that those guys may have been awarded CA, but are not "sitting in the seat" or better yet even in groundschool yet.

The guys awarded upgrade back in February just started ground school this week.

What is your point? The public loves to hate airlines. There are 100 million "XYZ Airlines suck" stories. Pick an airline, any airline, and someone has something bad to say about them.

That's a tired excuse, "everyone sucks so I guess it's ok for us to suck too". Kinda lets the company off the hook for trying to fix things, make things better, let's just settle for whatever sub-standard performance happens to come along. Pitiful.

I fly a lot, from the large legacy carriers to little puddle jumpers using the old Twin Otter. I often don't have much choice on which airline I use due to the departure or destination. My experience is that Allegiant is the ****tiest one of all in terms of reliability, customer service and unprofessionalism of the flight attendants. A lot of their problems are self-inflicted and could easily be eliminated with proper management and more emphasis on creating a satisfactory customer relationship and less emphasis on the almighty dollar.

The poster, or poser, you are replying to is either management or trying to get there. The excuse mindset infests that place at every level and is exactly why it will never get better.

These comparisons are invalid. Complaining about service is one thing, complaining about airplanes that are in the news almost every day because of the constant engine failures, evacuations and the like is an entirely different arena. Delta or United pilots are not being sent TDY for over a year or unable to be paid correctly or being terminated for performance because of mishandling the chronic crappy maintenance or training (their training department that was shut down by the FAA). They won't complain about feeling like their flying license is in jeopardy, every single day being set up to fail because of the cheapest and minimalist approach to everything and non existent support from their bosses.

Wow- along with the obvious crap of the company management putting the blame for the entire incident on the CA this makes the PIE fire & rescue department look inept. That airport isn't ATL or ORD but you'd think they'd have their act together better than that.
