I've been trying to follow this thread as best I can, but it's easy to get behind...my apologies if this has been asked/answered:
Any idea on what a first year pilot can expect to bring home? (i.e. availability to pick-up extra trips, etc.)

In short, it's not much, I'd guess 45-55K gross. First year pay under the new contract (starting today actually) is 56/hr... But new hire training (on the bus) is taking about 4-6 months, that's all min guarantee (70 hrs). Then you'll most likely be on reserve in your base for at least 2-4 months (72.5 hrs/month); but, sure you can pick up on your days off if there's trips available (which there won't always be). I tell everyone, plan for a rough first year. I don't see how you'd make much more than 50. 2nd year is 96/hr, than it becomes a real job.

Thank you very much for that information. Glad to have a rough idea. No 121 in my background, so it's always tricky guesstimating that stuff since each airline seems pretty different.

For all who applied, have most of you received a thanks but no thanks or the video interview email yet? I see some got responses the next day. Mine was showing being reviewed under submitted applications and now it shows nothing but I haven't heard anything either way.

It's nice we have this now, it cuts back on the involuntary TDY for the guys who don't wanna leave their domicile.

It's very base and season dependent. LAS, SFB, PIE, maybe IWA will have much more open flying in general. March, June, & July are peak months for all bases. If you are in a big base you could expect a little more $$ but less down time on reserve. If you're in a small base you'll never break guarantee until you have a line and you won't get used on reserve.
