I would love to work for Allegiant but to give up my current seniority/QOL to be on the bottom of the list at the end of a hiring boom is not desirable. No hiring means no movement and no movement means one better like the base offered in training.

"End of a hiring boom"? What? This is just the beginning. The regional airline model is dead, and there's never been a better time to get out. I gave up 15 years at a regional to come here, and have no regrets. Upgrade is currently less than two years, and G4 CAs make way more than a regional captain will ever see, while being home every night. If you would really love to work here, why not at least come check it out? Especially if your home is near a base.

It shows you as CRJ FO. That isn't worth staying anywhere for.

Most of us have been there. It's easy to get caught up in the latest seniority list at your regional and "hey babe I can hold weekends off now!" but the regionals are meant to leave.

^^ Y'all are right. I'm living in Tampa. Makes a lot of sense to go.

I wouldn't be suprised if the airline doubles again in the next 5-7 years. The rumor is 900+ by the end of next year. Yes things are starting to slow down now with all of the 80 to airbus transitions bogging down the training dept. over the next couple of years but when the new training center in Orlando comes online there will be enough room for transitions and some growth at the same time. Even if the music stops and you are the bottom FO in PIE for years I would think that would be a better life vs commuting to a senior 18 day off schedule. With the new contractual increased reserve staffing, reserve calls in the slow months are rare. A year from now you would be making 98.56/hr plus profit sharing, leaving the whipsaw of the regional for a very profitable airline that made money through the last 2008 recession. Also, living in Tampa you won't have to worry about getting awarded the wrong aircraft and getting seat locked out for 2 years since PIE has both Airbus and MD80 for the next year.

The exact words from the people that do the hiring: "We will be hiring indefinitely". The music won't stop for a long time. New hires are still being told that if you get on within the next two to three years, you'll be at a good spot seniority wise.

How much has the seniority list grown in the last couple years?
