Allegiant told the FAA that for the 15 months ending in March, its 50 McDonnell Douglas planes — including DC-9s and MD-80s — had 50 unscheduled landings, five emergency descents and eight aborted takeoffs. (Michael Fiala/Reuters)

The FAA looks very seriously on aborted takeoffs. Allegiant claims that it's the pilots that abort hastily and without real cause. But I say that when you work for an airline who's CEO (30% owner and over 4MIL in dividends paid to self) who greedily needs his planes to fly at all (or no) cost, I would abort takeoffs with haste too I think. I should not trust that the plane is mechanically or even chemically sound. At any rate, good luck Allegiant aviators. And please move on to a safer outfit with haste.

I went last week. I had Ernie and Ashley for my interview. There were two other pilots interviewing others. We had 10 so each group did 5 interviews. They were amazing. Very laid back. They just want to see your personality and if you would fit in. Most do. I would guess it's a 90%+ hire rate. After all the video and phone interviews, if they invite you to Vegas it's your job to lose.
