This is nothing.
Yes it was strangely vague.

All byproducts of a litigation – happy environment we now live in. Investors lost 50% of their investment and are looking for compensation through the too-easily accessible court system. Class action lawsuits represent zero risk to the plaintiffs; all upside, zero downside. Lawyers will look for any errors made by management or mis-representation and hope to find an out of court settlement from a company with deep pockets. These are among the many reasons that MG prefers building airlines to running them

Whether the plaintiffs are successful and to what extent depends on evidence, quality of representation, jury selection etc. Anyone's guess at this point (OJ walked). It could be expensive if the the operational blunders committed everyday are any indication.

Okay my mistake if that is not what you were implying. I've seen a few other people making that correlation in the past on here.

I'm no expert but I would assume it's common sense that if you are adding stock to your portfolio that just ran up from $150 to $232 a share in 2 months (like ALGT did last year) you are probably over paying. I could name hundreds of stocks that ran up 50% and dropped 50% shortly there after, ALGT is nothing unusual for 2015.

Default LAX/southern california

Does anyone have any idea if ALLEGIANT plans on staying in the Southern California market for the long haul? I know they were here in SOCAL in the past when ALLEGIANT was much smaller and pulled out of LAX. I understand that I may have to move for a short time before I can get awarded LAX. Just looking to see if LAX will be a solid base in the years ahead.Any insight would be appreciated.

Can't speak to their long term plans, but I can tell you lax is very junior. But you have to get the Airbus and not the MD80.

LAS IWA PIE and SFB are solid bases. The rest vary in possible closures. I would say CVG PGD and FLL are very unlikely. BLI LAX PIT AVL and OAK would be the most likely.

This is all just my opinion. Current news say all are good for the foreseeable future. However the same was said for GRR two months before it closed.

There aren't many bases at Allegiant that are completely safe from being closed down. They will stay in a base for as long as they are making a profit percentage that they feel is acceptable.

If it goes below that arbitrary threshold they set, they will pull out and go somewhere else.

I think LAX would work better if there was more gate space. Gates are super competitive in LAX and I don't think G4 is willing to pay above a certain threshold to get space or slots. So it's more of a function of what's available. According to the last town hall, the rumor of moving ops to BUR won't be happening.
