The management and overall culture is more corporate and less airline than most places. They try to downplay the airline part of the company as much as possible. Personally, I don't give a crap as long as the company makes a lot of money, but if you expect to be treated like a delta sky god, you won't be impressed. As far as pilots are concerned, once you are hired you are treated the same as anyone else in the company. I know of people who've had problems in training who would have easily gotten cut at any regional, and some majors, but they got what they needed at Allegiant and are still earning a paycheck. If you got in trouble or crossed the line in the past the treatment could be severe, however that will change with the new contract since termination and punishment are much more formalized.
All my interactions with senior mgmt, including CEO, COO, 121CP, have been very friendly and professional.

Not sure if this is meant to be slightly sarcastic or just cynical. I guess it depends what you compare to, but for a lot of people coming from regional airlines or defunct cargo companies, Allegiant company culture could be a lot worse.

His case is moving through the court system and a lot of high up company officials have already testified. Rumor is he has a very very strong chance of winning.

The company hasn't been much for accountability, until lately....

Could be a very embarrassing and costly settlement for sure. Hard questions will likely be asked as to why this poorly thought-out, knee-jerk, vindictive course of action was taken. Even then, this captain's termination was jaw-dropping, given the evidence of what happened. This has cost the company dearly in terms of negative national media coverage. That's going to continue and will really make G4 look bad if they lose this, which I suspect they will.

Now we have a contract that acts as a buffer by allowing us to mandate representation during any interrogations, I mean safety debriefings. And an arbitration process for any disciplinary action.

There was an extraordinary amount of captains fired in the last five years. His case got the most publicity. I don’t think his law suit is aiming at reinstatement. I think it’s just a cash settlement, which he will probably get. I believe, management claimed he was not humble enough during his interrogation and did not agree with his actions. Hence he was terminated.

Later, the FSRB, namely Bob Lieser, stated that the captain failed to recognize the subject matter experts in the room. I'm not sure what that means exactly. Maybe Bob knows.

Actually, I think what the company perceived as a lack of humility was more of a look of total bewilderment at the board's bizarre and nonstandard suggestions. The attending union reps were dumbfounded by the board's commentary as well.
