You say you haven't been here long, so I'll say this with all due respect. The members of the NC along with the majority of IBT volunteers bust their butts for this pilot group and not only is it thankless most of the time, but they have to hear idiotic comments like yours above.
These guys along with the AAPAG reps that came before them work for the pilots, not management.

I'm looking forward to getting the contract and hope to be able to vote for it.

I qualified that myself but thank you for repeating it. :-) I have more than a few thousand hours of Union volunteer time myself, which is exactly why I did qualify that. That does not change the fact of what I said, however, on a TA's passing or not is a litmus test to the job they did.
The NC's effort's should not be reason to vote one way or another, vote for a deal you can get behind. That being said you need to strongly consider what you are personally willing to do (or give-up) in order to achieve a better result at the negotiating table.
Some of your comments are shameful, no matter how much previous union experience you have! SMH in disgust.

I stated my opinion on the things that have leaked out, as did several other people. I merely mention that if some of that is true, and we get a TA that is too far from what the pilots want and fails would be the fault of the NC and the EXCO for putting a contract out there to the pilots for a vote on and that's shameful. You can look at it that way if you want, but looking at the over 300 pages of posts in this thread there are A LOT of things I would also consider shameful. I won't apologize for what I said, because what I said is correct when it comes to negotiating committees - it's just how it is in this business. It certainly isn't personal. However, when it comes to voting for a TA, it is very personal. But if I were to vote no on this contract it would not mean I don't appreciate the work that was put in, so let's make that distinction.
And I for one am hoping the contract is good enough to pass.

You will notice I referred to "if these rumors are true" I would feel that those words would be appropriate - and yes, I certainly would not have a problem saying that in their company, if perhaps more tactful than one is on an anonymous b1tch board. I for one do know a little bit about what an NC goes through. They know to expect some of that. Or at least, they should.

No worries. I feel the same about you! ;-)
I won't forget that in the end we are all on the same team, however, and we all have a vote. It's normal for emotions to run high on this stuff. Things will probably get a little ugly the next 30 days and opinions will swing heavy. N1SYNC is absolutely right that a calm head and looking at the big picture, both on paper as well as what's going on in the economy and the airlines need to be considered.
