Actually, I think what the company perceived as a lack of humility was more of a look of total bewilderment at the board's bizarre and nonstandard suggestions. The attending union reps were dumbfounded by the board's commentary as well.
Later, the FSRB, namely Bob Lieser, stated that the captain failed to recognize the subject matter experts in the room. I'm not sure what that means exactly. Maybe Bob knows.

ALG has surely done one thing, it's shown the industry why airline unions are still a necessary evil.

He had a very bad reputation as a check airman (and nickname) at my previous airline. Its scary that he was allowed to fill ANY position at any level. That his tenure was as long as it was, climbing the corporate ladder by destroying the careers of those above and around him, speaks for itself. By the time senior management finally realized the degree of damage his personal agendas and vendettas had created, it was too late. Good news is that his removal finally came and his request to be a check airman was denied.

I'm aware of his reputation at the previous airlines and a lot of the things he did there. I am also familiar with some of his antics at Allegiant. I was very happy to see him leave the training department.
