Those of you north of PIE or TPA have fun driving to SRQ in rush hour. Apparently FAs get a real base there.
I've never seen anybody get disgruntled about getting new growth, 17 new planes and new bases until now. I'm sure you understand that this is the only way to grow the airline when you run out of space to park the planes when you don't have overnights.

But it’s not really true growth for us. Not without the hiring of pilots. 24 new crew positions will have to be filled from somewhere. So that means siphoning off from other bases. This is a lot like the “growth” we experienced when they converted the 80s from 150 to 166 seats. On paper we were growing, but for us it was stagnant.

It is what it is. If you are under 40 you should be considering a move anyway regardless. This place isn't going to be United Airlines in any of our lifetimes, I hope you are not waiting for that.

SDF or MCI seem like the logical next bases.

I agree with MCI (or STL/BLV) but why SDF? MEM or BNA?

BLV is actually the most logical choice, but hopefully the fact that nobody wants to be there combined with the high tax environment scares them off... BNA would be a great base but we've only been going there for about a year now and it's gaining a ton of competition from the other ULCCs.

Of the 17 new planes this year, 4 go to GRR/SAV, 3 will be flexed to MYR/VPS and then who knows where during the winter... that still leaves 10 more to be allocated. Hopefully the west coast will get something!
