Yes, East STL is pretty . But there are a lot of areas in STL that aren’t. Same deal with MCI. Hell nearly all of MEM is. Not a single FDX guy (who lives in base) live in MEM. BNA might have a less prominent ghetto, but I bet you there is one.

If BLV opened I’ll be living dead smack in the middle. 25 mins to KSTL and 25 to KBLV. The neighborhoods in that distance range are quite acceptable. Of course I doubt it ever happens. Why on earth open a base with a ridiculous number of flights each week. I’m sure BLV will be a new G-Force arcade center before a domicile... *♂️
I grew up in KC, near MCI. There are lots of nice newly constructed low crime neighborhoods in KC, MO within a few miles of MCI. KC, MO has lots of undeveloped farmland within its city limits around MCI. Enough to keep developing for decades to come.

I lived in STL for several years. Agreed, the City of East St. Louis, IL is a slum with lots of problems, as are parts of St. Louis City, MO. St. Louis County, MO (not part of St. Louis City, which constitutionally ceded from the County in 1876, much to their regret today) has lots of nice upscale low crime neighborhoods within 30 minutes of the airport. East of East St. Louis, IL are towns of Edwardsville, Collinsville, etc. They are nice, as well.

City and county are trying to come together again. But yeah there’s plenty of nice suburban areas with good schools around Blv. Ofallon and mascoutah. About 35 min drive to stl. Downtown stl in 20

A lot of St. Louis County friends believe the St. Louis City wants to remerge so they can be supported by St. Louis County “sugar daddy”.

SWA payed out $544,000,000 in profit sharing. Pffft. But they don’t have go karts. I almost feel bad for them.

Don’t they have ten times as many pilots? That amount is a little over ten times our amount. What did each pilot receive?

I honestly would like to know.

They don't get cash profit sharing payout it goes into their retirement accounts.

Well... One more day in March and the wheels haven't fallen off. Color me shocked! I was definitely expecting a steady cocktail of sub-service and VFNs during our "perfectly staffed" month. As of yesterday, March departures are up over 10% YOY and our performance numbers are kicking a$$.

I'm not sure whether to be happy that things appear to be running smoothly or super disappointed that we (as pilots) weren't correct about it all going to hell in March.
