I thought JR b**** slapping Duane P was very unprofessional. The BOD should look into that.
Ha, look we agree on something! All those flavors and he went with salty! All because the guy questioned the company's intent last earnings call. Put your big boy pants and keep it in the past JR.

Also, Q1 22%, Q2 Higher than 22% and well above all four performance metrics. Our profit sharing is going to make Delta jealous in July! Well, probably not, but should be significantly better than last time.

How can our profitability be so much more than Delta’s, yet our profit sharing be so much less?

Corporate Greed. We don't have profit sharing anymore we have performance bonuses. The executives still get profit sharing though.

Ecam, did I just fly with you last night to a place with horrible ground ops discussing this? Good times. Hope we cross paths again. Anyway, interesting that our CBA uses profit sharing verbiage, not performance bonus verbiage.

It has nothing to do with corporate greed. Simple explanation:

Delta pilots get 10% or 20% of profits based on the amount of profit. Just for the pilots! DAL's quarterly profit amount is also significantly higher than ours. ($730M vs $98.5M in Q1)

WE share a much smaller percentage of profits (historically 5%) with the entire company... Together, that results in a comparatively much smaller check.

Next contract, pilot-only profit sharing carve out! For a much higher percentage than 5% and make it fixed, not based on performance goals that could equal a 0% share.

Also, there is nothing that guarantees ANY profit sharing. They could cancel the program tomorrow and we would get 0, as long as they cancel it for the entire company.

That sounds like corporate greed to me. I promise you that the execs never get a 0% share.

It's a free country, I'm sure you could start a multimillion dollar profit producing company. Then YOU could always get more than 0% too!

Until then, work to do what DAL did, negotiate a better share. Just remember, DAL was losing money when they gave that to the pilots as a throw away. They never dreamed that they would be making this kind of profit. No way they would give that to them today (if they didn't already have it). They tried to take it away or significantly reduce it in the last negotiation.

It never ceases to amaze me how entitled some are. You only deserve what you negotiate.

Like the Irish farmers during the potato famine. They had it coming. They should have negotiated a better deal.

Some would argue that being compensated hundreds of millions of dollars is an entitlement for being at the top of the food chain. It's not an argument that wealth needs to be evenly distributed, but rather what is fair? Greed is a great motivator, but at some point the financial gains of a few yield little benefit to society.
