Overall base seniority. It's better on the 737 in DFW than the Bus.
I was interested in the 80. However, I'm already being withheld on the 737, doubt I'd be awarded the 80. Plus, being on a dying fleet is no fun.

-80... best aircraft I've ever flown. Most fun, most challenging, most rewarding. I'd take a CA slot on that and never look back.
Group 4 FO over Group 2 CA... personal decision. For me, left seat will always be way more fun and challenging than droning on for 10hrs in the right seat dealing with all the Intl 3rd world BS and grumpy old captains *****ing about their boats and 3rd wives. Gimme 2-3 short legs with TOs and Landings while staying in the Us dealing with the best ATC system in the world over 10hrs on autopilot trying to stay awake while dodging N Korean missiles any day of the week and twice on Sunday while being my own boss!
737 is a great airplane (not as nice as the -80, nor will it ever be!) Built like a tank and requires PILOT skills to fly it (what a concept.) Rode j/s on the Airbus the other day and yes it is comfy but seems way too automated and totally takes the pilot out of the loop. Throttles don't move??? Sticks don't move on autopilot??? Can't see what the other pilot is doing when hand flying?? At top of descent the engines were at idle while the throttles were at climb thrust. Uhh, situational awareness nightmare anyone? (Air France 447)....Y'all can have it.

The things you mention are just new concepts for you, but you get used to them. Just like you'd get used to Min calendar day, A1 dead heads, better LTD, etc

You don't know what you don't know.
Sorry for the rant but.....
Your post just illustrates a lot of the mentality at LAA "the past was the best. Let's not change or think something else may work well because I'm not knowledgeable about it or don't understand it."

Thx amigo. Yeah guess I came off a bit ignorant on the Bus opinion. I'm just a bit amazed at the lack of cues I saw from the j/s...seemed really strange. Guess it's a matter of getting used to it. No harm intended to any fragile Bus egos!

I have almost 1000 hours in it and I still wasn't used to it. It's an odd duck, that's for sure. Is it a comfortable cockpit? Sure. Is it a nice airplane? Yeah. However, my time in Boeings have shown me that they are a superior product, albeit older technology and/or cramped, loud quarters. Plus, I actually like flying...not just manipulating Control Wheel Steering.
