Awards
September award should have June, July, August training slots.
Section 17.P. requires you to qualify no later than 30 days of the award(ignoring withheld).
I think the announcement should come out in April. The previous award was posted in January with awards released in late January for June awards. Five month lead time from announcement to award month.
Minimum of four bids runs per year.

Based on the latest crew planning update we retire 11 S80s in April... That may ripple into the September awards with S80 displacements. Also looking at the numbers I'm predicting a continued growth of 787 positions, specifically in ORD.

That was what was projected for the year. So far, they have fallen short by 15-20 people every class this year. No reason to think they'll meet the 40+ goal anytime soon.

That said, A320 training is very backed up right now so that may be the unspoken reason that the classes have been smaller for the the last 3 starts. January new hires that got A320s had training slipped by a month. A larger class on 20 March may signal that the training backlog is getting better and a sign for more new hires in the coming months.

Original projections showed 40 every 2 weeks until the fall but after the first 2 classes were 39/42 the numbers dropped to 24/26/32. 2017 projection was over 700 and only hired 650. VP of flight says that they are starting exactly what they want(649/650 in 2017) and constantly reassessing the yearly numbers and adjusting class sizes. Honestly the numbers have changed for 2018 so many times already its hard to say what the end number will be or what each class will be. I've seen that those getting CJOs right now are getting April class dates.

I guess it’s a good thing they shut down the PHX facility.
I have no idea why they didn’t at least leave that open temporarily to handle whatever extra demand we have
