Absolutely right. At 20% of my status and am working 22 through 25...went down to level 6 for me. Our PBS needs more levels to work otherwise the bidder has very little control over prioritizing trips. Supposedly its impossible to add more levels because our computers aren't powerful enough to handle more levels within a reasonable amount of time. Delta's machines don't seem to have that problem...imagine that!

Just short and long call. Short call is “promptly available” with no time defined. Long call is 12 hour minimum, but usually more like 18 hours notice. They can transition us to short call up to 5 times a month. I’ve had it happen about 2 to 3 times a year...YMMV

The unlimited no penalty reassignment of pilots sitting for two hours at hubs during their trips is effectively airport resrve, backfilled by short call reserve.

Don't forget recovery obligation.... That's the bonus part-where even the #1 pilot gets treated like a reserve!

Total BS. Of course it’s par for the course with this union. They spend more time purposely ****ing their own members and fighting over stupid stuff than anything else

It's not a very good system. I think the solution to the coverage days debacle is for the system to look back from the bottom when it runs into coverage issues. Since that seems to happen around the 50% mark it would be simple for the program to recognize that once it needs to satisfy a coverage day it starts the iteration from the most junior non reserve pilot to fill those days.
