Default PHX base

What is the proposed time frame to get a PHX base? What aircraft are based there? What bases are new hires getting?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

a-320 and b-757 are in PHX. There are a bunch of pilots trying to leave the base. They haven't had any new hires go there in over 2 years but will probably go junior once the first combined bid comes out (effective Jan 31)

If American shrinks PHX like they did to STL, it will be a moot point.

PHX isn't going anywhere. There is no airport to support our required west coast feed. It will be here for a long time. Looks like more Airbus than 737's will be based there. Should get it within a year!

It's funny you say that! As AA drastically reduced STL, guess who picked up the traffic?

75's are not going anywhere.. not until they get a replacement aircraft that can do that run to Hawaii, and the A321neo is not that plane from Phx. Yes, there's senior FO's who are going to be bailing out of there because now they finally can after 10 plus years. But that doesn't mean there's going to be any vacancies. The 3 month projection for crews is lower than what is currently based there now. It's clear the company wants the base to be a little smaller still. Lax is your best bet if you're looking to be based out west.

Any truth to the rumor of a few widebodies (767's?) doing runs from PHX to South America?
