Please correct me if I am mistaken. There were some AA pilots that flowed back to Eagle (Envoy) during furloughs (to avoid being furloughed themselves). They kept their AA seniority number. My understanding these 150 pilots were all part of the first 824 Envoy Pilots that flowed up to AA. The last of the 824s flowed earlier in 2017.

For that matter, through last year there were the last of the exTWA furloughees that returned to AA. They already had a seniority number (mostly stapled below the rest of the LAA Pilots).

Now the next group, the Protected Pilots of Envoy are flowing. They did not have an AA seniority number, nor do any of the other Envoy pilots on property.

So, what the Envoy pilot was saying was true of some pilots that previously flowed back up to AA, returning. But this does not apply to any of the current Envoy pilots.

True. AA also offers crappier QOL, an inferior contract and most importantly, less average days off per month on the narrow body than DAL and UAL. Way less days off than than a junior SWA pilot with the same relative seniority.

I believe you're wrong. The flow backs returned to AA/Left Eagle before the 824.

Thank you. You are probably correct.

Bottom line for the question, no one current flying for Envoy (Eagle) has an AA seniority number.

So what has taken place in the past is of no concern of someone considering hiring into Envoy nor anyone currently on property for Envoy.

No one outside of AA is going to sneak in ahead of someone who will flow in the future, due to a seniority number.

Transworld and Laker nailed it. Everyone else is more clueless than you think I am, and should read “flying the line”, as well as the histories behind the AA/TWA acquisition, the flowback agreement for AA pilots to Eagle, and that there are still furloughed AA pilots on military leave, as well as Envoy flow-throughs with an actual AA seniority number, yet not on AA property yet.

I do have a good feeling that I will get a call from UAL at some point not too far off as well, so my concerns are valid. I don’t want to be furloughed or give a pay concession or fly more for less on pairings because AAL is making decisions to sell more stock to shareholders in a time when interest rates could rise along with fuel prices in a culture where the pilots and company aren’t seeing eye-to-eye.

I’ve heard that AA nor the APA will even support an effort to pay its recalled pilots their full length of service pay. What does that say for an airline looking out for its junior pilots? What kind of culture is that? What can I expect for me if times get tough? Are they going to create another pay scale like they did in the 90s?

I’ve read all the books about Lorenzo and Crandall and know what these companies can do to their labor groups. And Parker didn’t start out as an airline guy. He has only led bankrupt companies and is in unfamiliar territory with a company making record profits. So I want to get some insight as to how true some of this stiff is for AA BEFORE I walk into the interview.
