its all seniority/month dependant. You can drop to zero,

no more questions

so this answer will vary by base to equipment to seat a lot. But I can tell you that in CLT/320/FO unless you are really senior (top 35%), PBS will build you a line with around 84 hrs. Jan and Feb are 2 of the slowest months of the year so everyone’s hrs are down. There is line construction window and then something you don’t see until after your award which is called MALV I think, or minimum(required)average line valve. That’s the number that matters because that is the amount of flying PBS is going to force onto your schedule in order to solve. Afterwards with some work and knowledge of LS, TTS, and TTOT you should be able to get that number down some, a lot if you don’t care about what days you work. I typically get an award in the 84-88hr range and can drop or trade down to low 60s. I am in the 65-75 percentile range...

Minimum (or maximum, depending on trend of senior bidders) credit value. Crappy thing is, it's only visible POST award activity, since it's dynamically calculated during PBS processing. This can really bite you if you're a junior lineholder / bubble pilot

yup that’s why I said it’s something you see only after the awards...I would like the PBS award reports to show these numbers next to each persons line, seems like it would be good info to have just to see the trends.

Could a 737 NYC FO eventually bid down to 10 days of work per month? Or does the system not allow that. At American, is it possible to work as much as you legally can, but also take some months slow?

once again, its seniority driven. Is someone going to take your crap trip new guy? Maybe but doubtful. I will say as a 737 fo nyc a year and half ago i was able to drop my 90hr line in JULY to 10hrs, i then quickly said forget that and picked up to get me 30hrs. So yes it can be done

too many questions, are you basing a decision off our answers?

Sorry....wasn't trying to be contrarian, but rather was in violent agreement (just reminding you of the term).

I think you have a good idea WRT the MCV being posted (TASC OAC report perhaps?). May be able to float that by the scheduling committee bubbas and see if the can make it happen!!
