Why would any American pilot be willing to give the company this? They don't implement any decent things for us. All these flights need to be double crewed.
The FAA already has screwed up the 737 Max oversight. They need to be challenged on this. They are not worth anything in oversight anymore. They always cede to managements wishes. Every pilot should write congress. ( not that they are up to anything either) but some congressman might want the press.

Correct....it’s on a per case basis, special rest provisions are incorporated. It’s primarily a factor when you have to de-ice on the outbound leg....can’t take much delay if the trip is blocked at 8:15...they had several instances of cancelling down in SJU due to exceeding The 9 hr 117 limit....this gives them 15 mins of breathing room.

It's just not worth trying to do with one crew. The passenger anger/ expense factor is just too high on an extensive snow delay then cancel.

APA is working on it. Unfortunately, the contract language isn’t as crystal clear as it should be. Keep these types of things in mind when it’s time for vote for a contract.
