that being said I only sign up for premium. I won’t work extra for them at straight pay.

shouldn’t be flying premium for 50% less than delta does either.

They are awesome and we do suck.

From the WSJ today:

Delta excelled and finished at the top of the Middle Seat Scorecard for the third year in a row. At the bottom of the rankings? American, for the third year in the past five. Those two airlines were on different flight paths in 2019.

And don’t forget that’s based on today’s fleet. The 787 fleet is poised to double, driving the time to group IV left seat down even further.

Contract changes. Work rules improve. Many things could make group 2 Captain go more senior. I personally and many others will go once things improve or not on SC rsv etc. I don’t think for a minute it will stay this junior for long. Many senior pilots will eventually bid over and most I would say might depend on the next contract.

The peak is 945 retirements in 2025.

From 2020-2025 we have a min of 4382 retirements.
or 1/3rd of the pilot group.

So many factors affect upgrades. Times could drop or if we get a better reserve contract you may see more senior pilots taking the upgrade. Anybody’s guess.

Exactly. People forget the number of FOs bypassing. How many group 4 FOs are waiting and will. We have many 767 CAs this time next year who won’t have a plane and many E190 Captains too. Many of the 787 SENIOR FOs are senior then 767 CAs and will take the 787 CA seat. It will change. The retirements I don’t see changing that.

March 3xp 364 767 CAs. Almost 300 767 FOs above 12,000 seniority. Roughly 85 E190 CAs 13,000 and below. They all are on fleets that are going away by this time next year. Im not saying it won’t continue but too many factors to consider to assume it will stay the same. A little caution would be wise.
