pilots have been selected with this amount of time but usually has other strong resumes and even stronger LORs. It does happen but it isn't the norm...but it will be.

I already applied and completed the PST couple days ago. Is a Cover letter needed? Also dose the LOR need to be from an AA pilot or can it be from a non-pilot AA employee? thanks.

I don't think there is anywhere in the application portal that asks for a cover letter to be uploaded so I don't think they want one. The prep service I'm using said they don't require one either. No idea about non-pilot LORs although I've got non-pilot AA references listed.

About 3-4 weeks ago I received a call from HR. The representative (Mike) wanted me to fix one date in my app. Otherwise he said it looked good, would push it to the next phase, and that I should expect a call in the coming days. It has been crickets since. Anybody else in a similar boat? I've heard the in person interviews are possibly light the next couple months.
I signed up for a M&G at WAI next month, so we will see what comes from that.

Non-AA LORs are fine. If you can find an AA pilot to refer you, they will need your candidate ID number which you can get from a recruiter after you apply. Different process for internal recs. Just went through this process.
