Vacancy announcement

I know projections were very pessimistic. Since last fall, I kept saying this summer will be 70-80% of normal PAX load. I was called an idiot and many other names. Looks like it was pretty much spot on.

to manage expectations a little...
word is that during the coronapocalypse, AA all but completely dissolved the pilot recruitment shop. only one employee remained.
part of the 300 target for 2021 is based on the fact that they have to reconstitute the hiring shop. some of this is based on "paddles told me" or "van rumor" but in any case, I would expect that 300 to be heavily slanted towards Q4 of 21.

I bet they have to do little, if any, recruiting to get 300 this year with all the CJO holders. Now processing all those with CJOs and getting them started might be a separate issue.
But is there any incentive for AA to get some of them hired and trained faster for this summers flight loads? Will having everyone back be enough, or will they still be hurting like they are now?

we have an Oct Vacancy out right now, closes at the end of the month-ish, award usually about 2-3 weeks later so mid June. That should be a little more telling of the movement I think since the Aug Vacancy was basically getting all the FOs back from furlough...
