All Pilot Groups need to come together

the problem lies in the fact that it isn’t just pilots who use KCM. Example- Pilots spend a decade (give or take) gaining the knowledge and experience to get to an airline. Along the way, various HR gauntlets, background checks, FAA certifications, medical certifications etc. We, as a pilot group, are then granted access to KCM. A friend of mine who was cutting hair a year ago just got hired by one of our regionals as a flight attendant. She has the same access to KCM that we do. So, unless they just increase FA randoms, I don’t see this going away. They treat us all the same.

You've taken that out of context and was not meant for the American Citizen. You're quote doesn't apply to us. We've been vetted already. Pretty sad state of affairs to surrender YOUR reward for OUR RISK. Random checks prove little to nothing. Pilots are now terrorists in the eyes of the people in baby blue.

I disagree. Don’t feel I’ve taken it out of context at all. Vetted once and a lifetime pass? I don’t trust people nearly as much as you apparently. Random checks just keep people honest. If we were not subjected to them, we would probably take chances with the trust. It’s human nature. People try to get away with stuff. Do all Pilots drive the speed limit when driving the road? Nope. But we are so law abiding right? Nope. The TSA keeps us in check for a reason. Your argument is futile.

I did not take it out of context and YOU know it. I also DID say I don’t trust us (people in general). You missed the point of random checks by the TSA. It’s not to prevent Pilot’s from crashing a plane, it’s to prevent smuggling contraband, drugs, money laundering, etc.

oh, and we’re NOT lifetime vetted. We get checked every 6/9/12 months anyway. FAA gets a report on it as required by law. We’re ALWAYS vetted just by checking in to the kiosk every trip. You compare a pilot speeding to a pilot trying to crash airplanes. How do I know you won’t crash an airplane? Isn’t that the job of the AME (forgot to mention that “vetting” as well.).
I did not compare a Pilot speeding to a pilot trying to crash a plane. I said pilots are just people. We are like anyone else. We are supposed to follow all the rules, yet I’m sure not every rule following pilot follows the state law speed limits as they drive on the highway. We are just people. We try to get away with little things, (just like non-Pilot’s) it’s just human nature. I said that in reference as to why random security checks at KCM are there. They keep us honest. We know there’s a chance we’d get randomly selected and therefore the risk/reward ratio of doing something completely illegal is NOT worth it. I believe that if we never had random checks, there would absolutely be some that take advantage of the trust in us afforded by system and try to get away with some shady things. It’s a not a big deal to go through security. You make it sound as if it is. I find no need to unify Pilot’s into a single list as you suggested, all because of a perceived uptick in random selections at KCM. It’s well, not rational.
