What would the advantages/disadvantages be. Let's be real about this. The same gentleman and ladies running APA, will also most likely be voted in ALPA if put on property. Only one thing changes that I know of.... Higher union dues. The same thing people are complaining about now, will be the SAME things complained about with ANY new union representation. Are you/we not happy with the APA as an organization of our representation or are we not happy with the people in office which represents us, we the people/pilots can change that through a votes not change in organization.

If someone puts together a solid drive and can articulate why a move to ALPA is in our best interest, I'm happy to give it some serious thought. But so far every attempt has seemed half assed, and someone needs to tell me how the same union leadership under a different name will somehow change the results.
But I have an open mind - clearly what we're doing now isn't working.

Yeah. Current B6ALPA sucks. Real bad. And ALPA National is equally as terrible. DeBiden is a horrible National leader. I’d hold what y’all got at APA tbh. ALPA won’t solve your problems imo. They’ll just charge you more to not represent your interests and make you angrier. But, I’m just an outsider who tossed his ALPA lanyard in the garbage last year.

ALPA vs. APA
Get Union headquarters out of DFW. Too many APA committee members go right to management positions.
Direct knowledge of other ALPA airlines contract language.
Safety in numbers.
Bigger lobbying presence in DC. More money to grease the politicians.
Pattern bargaining.
Mergers.
Better structure. LEC CA and FO reps.
I know ALPA isn’t perfect but APA has been getting its ass kicked for a long time.
