You got 19 days off while on reserve? Wow, that’s impressive. Most airlines only get 10-12 days off while on reserve. The rest of those days you’re either flying or on call. How did AA get so many days off on reserve?

I would like to know this mystery too because at American we only get 12 days off, Delta gets 13

You will fly 85-93 hours all summer long, with 13-14 days off, and it's the reason I'm voting no. The TA would stretch the max from 91 to 93 four months of the year, which is basically slave labor. Also, you won't get any vacation in the summer. Good luck planning that trip to Europe with your kids. I truly hope that the TA language proves me wrong on this enormous give.

The schedules here are mostly trash, outside of slow winter months. You will have to play chess with your reserve preference ballot, daily open time coverage, and the trip trade system to get to the coveted 16-17 days off that many other airlines would consider normal.

I said I ended up with 19 days off. Meaning I wasn’t used for 7 of my RSV days. Yes it’s not hard day off but that’s still time at home with the kids/family.

It’s baloney to call it an off day, you got lucky, there are plenty of reserves working 15 every month

Where are you getting 91-93 hours from? And where are you getting the idea that we don’t have pilots here with vacations in the summer?

the company can flex the ALV up to 86. Which means lines built up to 92. Summer vacation is insanely senior compared to other airlines

The NB LCW is TALV +/- 7, is it not? 86+7=93. And yes, good luck getting vacation in the summer unless you're in the top 25% of your bid status. I would like to see a CAP of 84 hours on lines and a minimum of around 68, for those who don't want to fly. This would force them to create more line holders and get rid of the ridiculous 35% reserve level that you see in some bid statuses. Anyone else who wants to fly more than 84 hours can just pick up in DOTC.

This is my number one issue with the current contract, and somehow APA managed to make it worse. Unbelievable.

You still only get 12 days off. You know how many months I maxed out on reserve last year?

P.S. Delta gets 13 days off plus all those days they weren't used, if you're the type of guy who counts that (screw all the commuters on SCR amirite?)

yep, using sick is the only way you're going to get off the dates you really need in the summer unless you are super-senior. But you better hope you weren't planning on using your non-rev benefits during that time.
