The instructional video on how to trade a trip is 2:29 ffs, it's extremely easy and quick.

So GrossNavError doesn’t understand taxes, can’t figure out how to watch a 3 minute video on TTS, and doesn’t know how to find another pilot’s contact info. However, he wants to pilot aircraft until 67 at an airline he hates. Brilliant!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't TTS only works with open time? One can argue "ballot" status can be maybe sort of a dropped trip, but it really isn't because is not known what is in the actual ballot.
Anyways, I just thought there was a way of picking up a dropped trip without having to contact the other pilot since he/she already dropped it. I guess that only worked with litesabre. But hey, everything that litesabre did can be done else, right...

Keep in mind if the trip just dropped, you need to add to ballot so it will run on the next cycle or you can wait and if no one else gets it then just pickup at they time.

TTS works with Open Time, Balloted, and Posted Trips.
Any trip that is Posted is fair game for a straight pickup. Picking up a Balloted trip must comply with whatever the pilot who has the Balloted trip wants.
If you want to do a straight pickup in TTS, that trip must either already be in Open Time or Posted for drop. If a trip is open, but there is no shopping cart, that means the trip must first be washed through a TTS run.
Even though LiteSabre is dead, trips may still be posted through the HISEQ in DECS and can be picked up and traded independently of TTS with no restriction of open time limits.

There are tons of pilots like that at AA. Fortunately they’re disappearing en masse, age 67 only delays that a little.

I guess my point is, with Litesabre if a pilot dropped a trip, I could on my end without notifying the dropping pilot pickup his/her trip automatically any time I wanted to. (Not needing to wait for TTS to run). Now seems to me, unless I'm wrong, the dropping pilot has to give it to me or I have to wait until TTS runs and do it that way. Am I missing something?

In TTS, you can pick up any posted trip outside of a TTS run. Just click the shopping cart and pick it up. If it's not posted, but balloted, you need to put it in your ballot and let it run to see if it meets their ballot requirements.
If a trip is posted in DECS, go to the N4 in TASC sabre, find the trip, and go through the steps to pick it up, you can even run it in test mode just like you could in LS. If it is posted you don't need any action from the person dropping the trip.
The only thing we really lost with LS was Pilot to Pilot auto trade. There is no mechanisim in TASC Sabre / DECS to automate that process. That is where the authorization part comes from so you can't just screw with someone elses schedule. When something is posted for drop that is the authorization.
