Places to live near CLT

Very true, however a counter point. I fly with mostly senior captains in the 3-4000 and below numbers and almost every single one looks at my seniority number and how young I am when we meet and it gets annoying hearing the "Ah welcome to AA junior" and then getting treated like I'm a brand new pilot for the next 3 days. So yes, ego.
The good news is those types are leaving en masse. And you can try to be like the rest of us who would never even consider saying such nonsense.

Agreed. It’s some weird ego thing I guess. You can literally look up your live, adjusted seniority number at any given instant. Print it out and show it to someone in the bizarre instance they care.

Have a heart to heart with them. Do it early in the trip so it doesn't build. I always took it as a compliment when people would comment (not so much anymore, unfortunately lol) but I wouldn't take **** from my flying partner if they kept treating me like that.
Flying with people twice your age can be tough but honestly the vast majority always treated me well and part of the team and were happy I was there. I will say some of the naazi's are insufferable and thankfully they will be gone soon.

Like seriously how good is your life if the thing you are complaining about is that your seniority number isn't instantly updated when someone retires lol
There is zero reason for AA to divert attention to something like this but yet people are actually upset about it and bring negativity to the job/working here because of it.

You're essentially saying "shut up and take the money", but then your seniority gets bypassed, which would otherwise allow you to be homebased, and you commute? Even to reserve? And the union that you pay a lot of dues to does nothing about it?
Isn't that the opposite of "you'll be senior one day"?

I can only speak from personal experience, because I don't have the actual data that APA or the company has, but I've been here for 1.8 months, and have had a CLT 320 FO vacancy bid in for the last ~6 months; with no award. APA says "the only new-hire pilot positions being offered to them are because all pilot preferences and awards received their award". Now, I could be very wrong here, and I don't know the exact new hire class awards for the last 6 months, but I have a hard time believe there have been 0 CLT 320 FO offers in the last 6 months of new hire classes.
But my question too is, being that we only do quarterly vacancies, if every QAL pilot got their preference and/or award, and we are running classes every 2 weeks and vacancies every 3 months, isn't that a lot more vacancies to fill than spots not being offered to QAL pilots; because of the quarterly bid? For example, so the December bid is closed. New hires for Jan, Feb and March only get offered what QAL pilots don't want, right? But if we are running classes every 2 weeks, isn't that a lot more spots to fill than what remained from the vacancy bid, but we just don't get the chance to bid? I'm missing something, I guess.

I know it sucks but that's the way it's done, your class gets your award and when the next vacancy that comes out that allows you to hold it, you can bid in.
CLT is, and will be, a senior base moving forward, it took me 3+ years to get there only to be on reserve. It only went junior for a short time because of the movement and the 737 base opening/expanding from 40->200+ over the span of 18 months or so.
Almost all the flows live in/around CLT and many people such as yourself want to move there.
